My first baby knits for a special little bundle we have yet to meet!

(this little giftie was shipped off to the little darling last weekend)

The Baby Belle Sweater and yarn purchased at the

Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet Festival from CosyMakes.

The Jelly Bean Baby Socks are my first ever socks

(mighty or tiny) from Spud & Chloe.

Loved knitting both patterns.

I had to rip back many times, but learned so much.

Knit love, I tell you!

In the knitter's lunch box...

HobbyHubby and the little people gave me the simple yet effective shawl pattern for Christmas and some lovely Noro sock yarn to go with it.

Been working on the piece for about a week and a half now...

What a simple and calming pattern...

I found some yummy yarn in my own stash for a few projects and then headed on over to the yarn shop with Eve and picked up a few other delicious treats!!

I'm feeling full of energy and ambition and I'm calling this basket "ROUND ONE!"

Road Trip: Knitting on the Go

I worked on this hat, a late Christmas present for

my brother-in-law (shame on me),

while on the way to WV.

I finished it while relaxing at my aunt's!

HobbyHubby delivered it last weekend and it fit perfectly!

Road Trip: Shopping Day, Knitting Shop

The aunties surprised me with a stop

at the Knit 'n Hook Yarn Shop.

This is a nice little yarn store in Huntington,

with the sweetest owner!

I didn't purchase any yarn, but did buy these two patterns.

I've since set to work on a purse from the Ann Norling pattern
using some Noro that had I in my yarn basket.
I'm enjoying the cables.

Yarn Shopping!

HobbyHubby and the little people accompanied me to the yarn shop last Saturday!

Ooo la la!

As I knit more and read more about yarn and just visit the shop more....

I get to learn about all the different yarns.

If I haven't mentioned it before, I'll mention it now.

I think I'm turning into a yarn snob!

I love wool. I love yarn shop wool.

Much happier than craft store wool.

Happy for knitting, happy for felting, happy, happy wool!

A view into the goody bag!

Yarn for Auntie Z's felted bag for Christmas.

3 Skeins of Cascade and 1 skein of variegated Noro.

We'll see if she gets the bag or just a box of yarn for Christmas!

(Time is moving fast this fall and projects are moving slow!)

4 skeins of really HAPPY Noro.

THESE, THOSE & the OTHERS!

Whew! It's been a busy 10 days here! I was lucky enough to have my mom come and stay for a great visit! We dreamt big and thought we'd finish two quilts and get another two started.

Let's say that was a practical plan, had we been locked in a room with our sewing machines.

Think: no interruptions from the little people or HobbyHubby or the phone...

Think: no shopping trips, no trip to the zoo, no lunches out, no vacation bible school...

Think: no chores (laundry, meal prep, tidying up)...

Think: no sleeping, resting, napping, chatting, checking email, blogging...

Think: no Saturday night date with HobbyHubby (1st since our anniversary last December) while mom babysits!

THINK of what we'd have missed had we had that practical plan!!!

So here we go...

are the quilts we worked on. (mine above, hers below) It is a fun Debbie Mumm pattern called Seasons. The middle panel swaps out to show each different season. That one is the beginning of spring. We still have to completely applique the other three seasons and finish this one, bind the whole base and little panels, and applique a vine on the main base!

Here is a happy little elf that I couldn't pass up... Part of a larger Christmas panel. Do you think I could walk by the panel and not get two charm packs or enough border and binding fabrics? Are you kidding me? I'm going to make this Jolly Elf quilt and then it will be the official Christmas cuddle on the couch quilt! HA! Or, should I say HO HO HO?
Oh, and here is another charm pack that will become something lovely!
